We are deeply touched by the many generous OneSky supporters who have reached out to ask how they can help the children during the current coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in Asia.
We are fortunate that the generous support we’ve received over the years, from our family of donors around the world, has enabled us to provide high-level care, including health and hygiene, to the children in our programs. But this recent crisis means that we, like other organizations working across Asia, now have an increased and urgent need for protective masks, gloves, eyewear, disinfectant and other items.
In China, OneSky orphanage staff are currently staying on-site in welfare institutions, caring for children around the clock, while our program staff in rural villages are assisting the government with temperature checks and educating their elderly neighbors on safe hygiene practices and how to protect their young grandchildren. In Vietnam, our Early Learning Center is closed and our Independent Childcare Provider Program is suspended until schools are permitted to open.
As ever, our focus is on keeping the children and families safe, and we couldn’t be more proud of our dedicated OneSky team! But we do need your support to help keep them and the children in their care, safe and healthy during the COVID-19 outbreak. To that end, we have launched the OneSky Crisis Fund. Financial gifts of any size are welcome and greatly appreciated.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support, through the years, and especially at this very difficult time.
