GALLERY: Lantern Festival shines with hope for a better year
A year on from the darkest hours of Covid-19, just being able to celebrate the Lantern Festival brings hope … and plenty of smiles for the children.
In China’s rural communities, OneSky family mentors recently hosted Lantern Festival celebrations as part of ongoing activities to bring communities closer together for the good of their youngest members.
In cities, OneSky-trained caregivers helped children they care for make lanterns. It’s all a world away from this time last year when the same dedicated caregivers stayed with the children for days on end during the lockdown.
Now, with Chinese media reporting over 50 million doses of Covid-19 vaccinations being administered, and with outbreaks drastically reduced, there is hope and this special day is full of children’s smiles.
